Payouts

Paid over the fastest rail their bank takes.

Pinnacle checks every contractor’s bank before a run and picks the rail: RTP or FedNow where the bank answers in seconds, same-day ACH where it doesn’t, a wire only when you ask for one.

  • About seven in ten US checking accounts take instant payouts
  • A declined instant payment falls back to same-day ACH on its own
  • Every contractor gets a receipt with the rail and the minute it landed

Tax forms

The W-9 in March, the 1099 in January.

Contractors add a W-9 when they sign up and Pinnacle matches each TIN with the IRS that week, not in the last days of January. When the year closes, every 1099-NEC is e-filed and a copy goes to each contractor.

  • TIN mismatches flagged the day a contractor is added
  • Federal filing, plus the states that want their own copy

Reconciliation

Books that close the day a run settles.

Each settled run posts to your general ledger as journal lines, split by account and class, with the contractor, the rail and the fee on every line. Month-end becomes a review instead of a rebuild.

  • Map rails, fees and accounts to your own chart of accounts once
  • Lines post within minutes of settlement, not overnight
  • A run that fails to post holds in a queue you can see
See what it connects to

Posts to the books you already keep.

Each settled run lands in your accounting system as journal lines, and contractors arrive from the HR tool that onboarded them. Connect once, in about ten minutes, with a read-and-post token you can revoke.

Can we keep our current bank?

Yes. Most teams keep their operating account where it is and fund Pinnacle by ACH pull or wire before each run. Some move everything over a quarter later; nothing requires it.

How many accounts can one treasury hold?

Up to twelve, each with its own account and routing number. Sweep rules can move money between any two of them on a schedule or a threshold.

What happens when a contractor’s bank rejects a payment?

An instant payment that is declined falls back to same-day ACH by itself. A returned ACH payment comes back to the funding account within two business days, and the contractor is asked to fix their details.

Do you support contractors outside the United States?

Not today. Pinnacle pays US bank accounts in all 50 states and DC, and files US tax forms. That focus is why the rails and the 1099s work the way they do.

Is there an API?

Yes — the same one the dashboard uses. Create contractors, build and approve runs, and receive signed webhooks when each payout settles.

Move one pay cycle and keep the rest.

Import your contractors as a CSV, fund the balance from your business checking, and send a test payout to yourself before anyone else is paid.
